In the beginning of January, Disney Plus released the much-anticipated Book of Boba Fett TV series as a follow up to the wildly successful forerunner, The Mandalorian. Created by Jon Favreau and starring Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett) and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) – the series follows bounty hunter Boba Fett and his mercenary sidekick as they navigate the Tatooine underworld to claim (and attempt to keep) Jabba the Hutt’s dominion as their own.

For his part in the Star Wars story, Morrison has featured in both Episode II and Episode III of the saga, as well as featured in films such as AquamanThe FlashGreen Lantern and many more.  Now, and largely thanks to his starring role as Boba Fett, people are talking about Morrison again, including a lot of talk online chatter about his extremely perfect teeth.

It might seem absurd to pay attention to something like teeth when there’s so much other wild stuff happening on screen, but once you see it, you can’t unsee it.  The smile transformation is striking, especially when comparing before and after photos of Morrison’s chops.  Long story short, his smile has upgraded more than a few levels and has firmly secured its place on the Hollywood smile mantle – at least as far as our entertainment writers are concerned.

Temuera Morrison hasn’t always had such a radiant smile, no, as is shown above his teeth were actually quite… decrepit for lack of a better word.  It’s difficult to determine exactly when this smile makeover began lighting up our TV screens, but going by some hastily collected movie poster research, we’re going with 2007 – before his comic relief role in Couples Retreat (2009).  Even so, it’s been speculated that Morrison visited his cosmetic dentist again recently, because his Boba Fett role shows strikingly brighter teeth that you can’t miss.

So, what’s the secret to his smile transformation?  While the full details aren’t known, it seems obvious he’s had some extensive dental veneer work done.   Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry procedure that’s well known not only for fixing the smiles of your favourite actors and actresses, but also for us non-celebrities.  The process involves attaching artificial veneers (thin tooth-coloured shells usually made of porcelain) that a cosmetic dentist attaches to the front surface of a patients tooth to improve appearance.  Dental veneers can be used to treat a wide range of cosmetic problems like broken, cracked or chipped teeth, gaps, discolorations and teeth that are mishappen or appear too small.  Patients can opt for single veneers or multiples to dynamically enhance a whole row of teeth.  Look at what veneers did for Temuera Morrison teeth.

The process is quite simple, takes about one to two weeks and is typically painless too.  Your dentist will thoroughly clean your teeth, then use a grinding tool to rough up the texture of any teeth that will receive a veneer attachment.  Then the veneer will be bonded on top of the tooth and shaped to fit perfectly into your smile.  Veneers are a great way to enhance your smile or repair cosmetic damage to your teeth.  The cost of veneers varies depending on how many teeth are being done and the overall quality of the veneer.  They are quite durable too and normal chewing isn’t an issue.

Getting back to Morrison and the actor veneer crowd, it’s easy to understand why a new set of pearly whites is almost mandatory for those in the acting profession.  While not every role will require perfect teeth, it’s still a bonus to always be able to present a great smile that helps secure a role and win over an audience.

Even if you aren’t a celebrity, veneers can be a great way to give yourself a boost of confidence, so you’ll look and feel better.  If this sounds like something you’re interested in, then the first step would be to speak with your dentist about what your options are. It’s a procedure they should be fully familiar with and one they provide for their clients all the time.  Book a consultation and go from there – your smile will thank you.
