Iowa is now seeing their deer become infected with COVID-19.
After testing deer samples, 80% have been found to be infected with the disease.
Experts say it’s not likely that deer to will spread the virus to humans, which is a good thing as Iowa starts their hunting season.
If the meat is prepared properly, it’s safe, but hunters should still use caution and wear gloves and masks just to be safe.
Others feel differently about animals contracting the virus, saying if left unmonitored it could mutate again and come back on humans the way it jumped from humans to deer.
