Indian Wells 2021: tennis tournament schedule, order of play today – when is Cameron Norrie next playing? 


After being postponed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, California plays host again to the BNP Paribas Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

A number of high profile players announced they would not be participating in the tournament this year thus ensuring that, whoever the winner, there will be a new men’s champion for 2021.

Here is all you need to know about important dates and times for this year’s BNP Paribas Open. 

What is the Indian Wells 2021 schedule?

  • Days 1-4 First Round : Monday 4 October 2021 – Thursday 7 October 2021
  • Days 5 and 6 Second Round : Friday 8 October / Saturday 9 October 2021
  • Days 7 and 8 Third Round : Sunday 10 October / Monday 11 October 2021
  • Days 9 Fourth Round : Tuesday 12 October 2021
  • Days 10 and 11 Quarter-Final : Wednesday 13 October / Thursday 14 October 2021
  • Day 12 Semi-Final : Friday 15 October 2021
  • Day 14 Final : Sunday 17 October 2021

The Day sessions will begin at 11am local time (7pm BST) and the night sessions will start at 6pm local (2am BST).

The singles finals will start at 4pm local (12am BST).

Who is playing at Indian Wells 2021 today?

Britain’s Cameron Norrie booked a semi final place at Indian Wells 2021 after beating Diego Schwartzman 6-0 6-2 on Stadium One.

Norrie will face Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in Saturday’s last four encounter.

When is Andy Murray playing at Indian Wells 2021?

Andy Murray was knocked out of the Indian Wells 2021 competition after losing to Alexander Zverev 6-4 7-6 (7-4). 

Murray, who had gone through the qualifying stages, had made it through to the third round before facing the number three seed on Tuesday 12 October 2021. 

The Briton has now announced that he intends to miss the Davis Cup following his loss to Zverev. 

When is Emma Raducanu playing at Indian Wells 2021?

Emma Raducanu lost in straight sets – 2-6 4-6 – to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round at Indian Wells.

The US Open 2021 champion, Raducanu, was unable to reach the heights of Flushing Meadows on her return to competitive tennis.

A wildcard for the Indian Wells tournament, Raducanu was seeded 17 in the women’s draw but bowed out to the more experienced Sasnovich.

Who else is in this year’s top seeds at Indian Wells 2021?

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev are the top seeds left in this year’s Indian Wells Tournament. Daniil Medvedev, Matteo Berrettini and Felix Auger-Aliassime have all been knocked out.

Angelique Kerber is the only top seeded female player left in this year’s Indian Wells tournament. Emma Raducanu, Simona Halep, Karolina Plitskova, Iga Swiatek, Garbine Mauguruza and Petra Kvitiva are all out.
