SpaceX has fired employees who helped write and distribute an open letter critical of CEO Elon Musk’s conduct, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing three employees with knowledge of the situation. Figure.
SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell sent an email saying the company was investigating and “terminating a number of employees involved” with the letter, New York Times speak.
It was not clear how many employees had been terminated, the report said.
SpaceX did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
A group of SpaceX employees mocked Musk as a “distraction and confusion” in an internal letter to executives.
In a list of three requests, the letter reads that “SpaceX must quickly and clearly dissociate itself from Elon’s personal brand.” It added: “Hold all leadership equally accountable to make SpaceX a great place to work for all” and “unified identification and response to all forms” unacceptable behavior.”
