Madison key is an American tennis player and has won six WTA titles. Her career high ranking is No.7 which she achieved on October 10, 2016.
The American tennis player is a mainstay in the top 50 of the WTA rankings and has reached at least the semi-finals of three of the four Grand Slams, one of which is Wimbledon. Her best result at the Grand Slams was a runner-up at the 2017 US Open.
Keys has had a positive start to her 2022 season, winning the WTA Adelaide International 2 title while leading the Australian Open. Kicking off her victory, she beat two of the top three seeds to claim her sixth WTA title and her first title since 2019. In the first round of the 2022 Australian Open, Keys took a surprise. win against the former champion Sofia Kenin in collinear sets. She continued her winning streak and beat the world number 6 Paula Badosa in round 4 to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2018. She then overcame Barbora Krejcikova to reach the semi-finals.
Keys is currently coached by Thomas Hogstedt, a former tennis player. He played for Sweden in the 1980s and is a former world No. During his senior career, he won a title at the Grand Prix level, similar to the ATP Tour of the present time. The highest rank of his career is 38th.
The Swedes have coached many famous tennis players over the years. Some of them include Maria Sharapova, Simona Halep, Li Na and Caroline Wozniacki.
Hogstedt began coaching Keys in April 2016. That year was one of Keys’ best seasons, debuting in the top 10 of the WTA rankings and peaking her career at No.7. She also qualified for the year-end WTA Finals. But all of a sudden, Keys announced his split from the Swede at the end of the season, citing ‘personality conflicts’.
Keys then changed coaches over the years, before she announced her reunion with Hogstedt in April 2021. The reunion proved fruitful as Keys reached the fourth round at Wimbledon that year and won the championship. Adelaide International 2 in early 2022.
